A tribute to Mill Road’s very own Allan Brigham, who died in September 2020.
Allan was an enthusiast for the Mill Road Winter Fair from its very first days. He was supportive in every possible way, as he was for all Mill Road ventures. Until his illness prevented it, Allan led a free Mill Road Tour every Fair day, usually at about 8 in the morning. Places were always fully taken up and, as with all his tours, it was informative, funny and memorable. If you’d ever been on an Allan tour before, then woe betide you if you’d forgotten the date when the railway came to Cambridge…
So many of us had our eyes opened to the richness of our road thanks to dear Allan, and it makes a difference every time you walk outside your front door.
