The Mill Road Winter Fair Committee doesn’t just organise the annual Winter Fair. Thanks to funding from a new charity, Love Mill Road, we also run Mill Road Fringe community events throughout the year.
Mill Road Fringe aims to nurture and celebrate Mill Road’s creativity and independence by delivering local projects that encourage community interaction. Given the close relationship to the Winter Fair, we particularly like to foster local musical and artistic talent by giving performers opportunities to try out their skills and reach new audiences.
So far we’ve organised the Mill Road Lantern Trail, Mill Road Saturdays, the I Spy Mill Road Trail, an online art gallery, and a fabulous gig night. We’d love to do more, so please get in touch with any ideas, or let us know if you’d like to perform/run an activity, via [email protected].
The next events are our two free film nights on 23rd and 24th September at St Philip’s Church. Further Fringe events coming up in the Autumn include live music nights along Mill Road, and a poetry evening.
