Sat 4 December

Below are details of the buskers, stalls and family fun you will find at Donkey Common and Petersfield at the third and final Mill Road Saturday, on Saturday 4th December, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

There are also a number of events at other spots along the road, so be sure to take a stroll further down, doing the I Spy Mill Road trail as you go.

The EDGE Café

At the Romsey end of Mill Road, the bunting and I Spy Mill Road trail continues with The EDGE Café hosting a fabulous Christmas fair. Featuring a craft fair, a clothes swap, all day brunch, festive treats, Reiki and acupuncture. To book spaces on the healing events, please call The EDGE on 01223 212478. To book a table at the craft fair, email [email protected]. You can see more here.

Lifecraft

Petersfield Art Trail

Six artists living in Petersfield have decided to do a Winter Open Studios over the weekend of 4th and 5th December. There will be a wide range of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and cards, including small pieces suitable for a unique local gift, created by a group of experienced, friendly artists. So why not add the artists’ trail to your Christmas shopping trip and come and browse the studios, chat to the artists, and support the growing creative community of central Cambridge. You can see more here.

The Cambridge Blue

The Cambridge Blue on Gwydir Street will be holding our own mini fair! Reindeer and Santa will both be in attendance, as well as a couple of stalls to buy your family or friends a Christmas gift. Mulled drinks will be served from the outside bar and hopefully there will be a workshop for the kids to make their own decorations. Event runs from 12 noon until 6pm. Find out more here.

Tours

The Mill Road History Society are running a walking tour from 10-11am. Cost: £12 on the day; £10 if booked in advance; children free. Email [email protected] to reserve a place. Meet near Parkside Pool. Find out more here.

Family fun

St Barnabas Church will have refreshments and a brass band, along with some bouncy castles and soft play in the main church space.
On Petersfield, you can find Cambridge Hands-On Science (CHaOS), a group of friendly student volunteers from the University of Cambridge, who are keen to share with you our passion for science! We will have loads of fun experiments from across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

CHaOS has no age limits. We want younger children to see our experiments and think they’re amazing, to get involved and play with the effects we’re demonstrating. For older children, we’re also there to teach the science underlying the fun.

Also on Petersfield, look out for the fabulous face painter and hair braider!
